Despite being days away from giving birth, Nollywood star Ruby Ojiakor kept her tradition of reaching out to others. She shared a video of her visit to Asaba Specialist Hospital, where she cheered on newly delivered mothers with essential supplies and heartfelt prayers. Ruby handed out diapers and wipes to the women. She prayed boldly that the labour room would spare their lives and urged everyone to trust in God’s protection. She described the outreach as the "work of Christ". Just two weeks after her wedding, Ruby visited her orphanage home, City of David, to thank God for a successful ceremony. She called God her engine and powerhouse and said nothing brings her more joy than serving others. Earlier this year, the Asaba actress won a humanitarian award and reiterated that giving is living. She has also faced criticism for a viral clip of her tossing money to street children, with fans advising a more respectful approach. Ruby later recalled a moment when well-meaning fans showered her with cash on a film set.

I agree. She likely feels fulfilled doing good before delivery and wants to maintain her giving habit.

She pledged heartfelt prayers and supplies, but I wonder if such gestures offer lasting support beyond a single visit.

Helping new mothers is commendable, but shouldn't public figures address deeper healthcare challenges instead of occasional photo ops?

Local donors can partner with hospitals to provide essential kits regularly, ensuring new mothers receive ongoing support after delivery.
