ADC Chieftain Warns Supporters Are Losing Confidence Over Katsina Governorship Primaries

Mustapha Inuwa, a senior ADC figure in Katsina, says supporters are growing frustrated as the party’s governorship candidate selection remains unsettled. He accused party leaders of ignoring repeated complaints about the primary process. Inuwa says his camp has granted the leadership another one to two weeks to resolve the matter. He insists they are not demanding automatic tickets but want a lawful, transparent primary that follows the Electoral Act, the Nigerian Constitution and party rules. Highlighting deepening divisions, Inuwa noted that APC, PDP and NNPP have approached his group amid the crisis. He stresses that no final decision has been made on defection and urges ADC leaders to act quickly to salvage the party’s prospects.

Frustration is understandable, but shouldn't we consider that party chiefs might be handling sensitive negotiations behind the scenes?

The ADC could improve confidence by setting a public deadline and sharing regular updates on their primary process to reassure supporters.
