Governor Otti Orders April Flag-Off of ABSIID Projects After Clearing Delays

Governor Alex Otti has directed the immediate resolution of all issues delaying the Abia State Integrated Infrastructural Development (ABSIID) projects. He noted that the state has already released its ₦2 billion counterpart funding. On March 24, while hosting delegates from the Federal Ministry of Finance and the African Development Bank, he blamed past holdups on an information gap. He tasked his Chief of Staff to join the ABSIID team and provide him with weekly progress reports. Rejecting a midyear flag-off, the governor insisted the projects must start by April to maximise the dry season. He pledged to remove any bureaucratic bottlenecks that have stalled work so far. Representatives of the Federal Ministry and the bank commended the timely fund release and promised to collaborate with the state government to accelerate the five-year implementation plan for the benefit of Abia residents.

I agree some infrastructure will appear quickly, but I'm skeptical it'll live up to all the promises.

It's interesting that clearing delays and releasing counterpart funds only came this close to the flag-off date.
