At ADC National Convention, Aregbesola Vows: ‘We Are Unstoppable’
In Abuja, Rauf Aregbesola opened the ADC’s 8th National Convention with a message of inevitability and defiance. He compared the party’s rise to the certainty of the sun and vowed that no force could halt its momentum. He portrayed the nation’s economic crisis—featuring a Naira drop from ₦700 to around ₦1,400 against the dollar—as proof of leadership failure. He criticized rising fuel costs and the daily struggle of workers, arguing that official figures mask everyday realities. Aregbesola also condemned leadership’s lack of empathy during national tragedies and blamed the electoral body for sidelining the convention. Invoking the legacy of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, he warned that unchecked manipulation threatens democracy. Concluding with a call to action, he urged supporters to stand firm. He admitted past losses but said they offered lessons. Now, he affirmed, the ADC is reorganizing and ready to challenge for a different political future.
