21-year-old Herder Arrested for Assaulting Farmer in Plateau’s Barkin Ladi

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested 21-year-old Abdulmutala Yunusa for allegedly assaulting a farmer in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State. He was handed over to authorities at Sector 4, Sub-Sector 41, Gashish, on May 29 at about 1:30 p.m. The arrest followed a manhunt after a farmer resisted Yunusa’s attempt to graze on his farm at Hai Kurra Fall. Yunusa’s father, initially detained over the incident, was released when his son surrendered through the community’s Fulani leader. Yunusa is now in custody as security agencies continue efforts to sustain peace and prevent further tensions in the area.
