‘Help Me For God’s Sake’: Zamfara Man’s Plea as Bandits Seize His Wives and Children
Armed bandits invaded Lukman Muttaka’s home in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, on the night of May 13, 2026. They abducted his two wives and five children, including an infant. In a desperate Facebook post in Hausa, Muttaka begged: “Barayi a cikin gidana, taimaka man dan Allah” (Thieves are in my house, help me for God’s sake). His younger brother confirmed the raid online and prayed for their safe return. The abduction of seven members of one family has renewed fears over worsening insecurity in Zamfara.
