ADC Secretary Sues FHC Chief Judge, Seeks NJC Probe Over Defied Supreme Court Order
Mr Nkemakolam Ukandu, ADC National Welfare Secretary, has sued Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, for allegedly defying a Supreme Court directive. He wants the National Judicial Council to investigate claims of corruption, abuse of power and manifest bias against Tsoho and Justice Peter Lifu. The suit arises from the ongoing ADC leadership crisis involving Nafiu-Bala Gombe. After the Supreme Court remitted Gombe’s case to Justice Emeka Nwite, Chief Judge Tsoho reassigned it to Justice Lifu without complying with existing orders. Ukandu also highlights allegations reported by a national newspaper that judges handling cases tied to political interests may not deliver fair justice. He is asking the court for an injunction to stop Justice Lifu from further hearing the matter and for an NJC inquiry into the two judges’ conduct.
