Responding to False Resignation Claims at GRA Agbogbloshie Service Centre
I work at the Ghana Revenue Authority Agbogbloshie Service Centre. Recently, my branch claimed I submitted a resignation letter, but I never did. Mrs Gifty Oforiwaa Arthur insists I abruptly resigned, so I’ve appealed to various rights bodies to review my case. A proper resignation usually states reasons and triggers an official acknowledgment. It can follow disciplinary issues, health concerns, relocation, or further studies. Employers must respond with a receipt and may verify supporting documents such as medical reports or visa approvals. Last July, I travelled near the Nigeria–Benin border and couldn’t pay a small crossing fee. Colleagues kindly contributed so I could return to Accra. On arrival, I personally pleaded for forgiveness and permission to continue work. Despite this journey, I never tendered a resignation. I now await a formal response from GRA to confirm my contract is still valid and clear my name of any wrongful resignation claims.
