London Marathon 2026 Kicks Off Today with 50,000 Runners

The 2026 London Marathon takes place today, Sunday 26 April. About 50,000 participants will run the 26.2-mile route from Greenwich to The Mall. An estimated 800,000 spectators are expected to line the streets and cheer on the runners. Famous names such as Tony Adams and Aaron Ramsey are among those set to take part. With sunny intervals and temperatures around 18°C, supporters are advised to bring plenty of water. Live coverage starts at 8:30am on BBC One and moves to BBC Two at 2pm.
