Katsina Strengthens School Safety with NSCDC–Education Ministry Partnership

The NSCDC in Katsina has pledged closer collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to boost security in schools across the state. The State Commandant, Abbas Moriki, highlighted the need for joint efforts to protect students, teachers and school property. Moriki said sustained cooperation among key agencies is vital amid current security challenges. He described the NSCDC–Education Ministry partnership as essential for safeguarding the future of children. Commissioner Yusuf Suleiman-Jibia welcomed the visit and commended the corps for its role in securing learning environments. He noted plans to implement the National Safe Schools Programme locally and affirmed the state government’s commitment to ongoing inter-agency engagement. During the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Moriki also monitored exam centres and distributed new operational equipment to NSCDC personnel. He praised the smooth conduct of the UTME and urged continued vigilance.
