Troops of the 159 Battalion have arrested two men suspected of terrorism during a routine stop-and-search at the Kanama checkpoint, Yobe State. The suspects, aged 40 and 34 and both from Geidam, were intercepted on April 30, 2026, while returning from Damasak market. Security sources say incriminating images were found on their phones. Items recovered include smartphones, prayer mats, clothing, and N408,500 in cash. The suspects remain in military custody as investigations continue.
