Buratai to Chair 24th Aminu Kano Memorial Symposium at Bayero University

Retired Chief of Army Staff Tukur Yusuf Buratai will chair the 24th annual symposium marking the 43rd memorial of Malam Aminu Kano at Bayero University Kano. Hosted by the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies, the event is scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026 at the Sa’adu Zungur Auditorium. Under the theme “ECOWAS and Regional Peace in West Africa: Security and Economic Implications for Nigeria,” the gathering will feature keynotes from ECOWAS veteran Nazifi Abdullahi Darma and special addresses by Governor Dikko Radda and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Other discussants include former NIS Comptroller-General Muhammed Babandede and Professor Samaila Suleiman. Stakeholders will explore actionable strategies for sustainable peace and regional cooperation.
