Troops Rescue Nine Kidnap Victims in Katsina, Recover Rustled Livestock and Arrest Suspected Terrorist
Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA troops carried out intelligence-driven raids across the Northwest, rescuing nine kidnapped civilians. The group included three women, four men and two children who escaped their captors before troops intercepted them. They are now in safe custody pending reunification with their families. In a separate operation in Bakori, troops foiled a livestock rustling attempt. The assailants fled under fire, abandoning 56 animals – four cattle and 52 sheep. The recovered livestock awaits handover to local authorities. Additionally, a suspected terrorist was arrested in Danmusa. Items seized from him suggest links to extremist activities. The Theatre Commander praised the troops’ professionalism and vowed to sustain joint operations until criminal networks are dismantled.
