APC Governors Elect Peter Mbah as New Progressive Governors Forum Chairman

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has been elected chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, succeeding Hope Uzodimma. The decision came at an extraordinary meeting of APC governors in Abuja. About 20 governors attended the closed-door session, including leaders from Ogun and Bayelsa states. His election follows Governor Uzodimma’s address on behalf of APC governors during President Bola Tinubu’s nomination form submission. Party insiders say the move aims to boost strategic collaboration among APC governors ahead of upcoming political consultations.

It's interesting that the chairmanship shifted from Uzodimma to Mbah after a closed-door session with about twenty governors in Abuja.

I'm not sure if changing the forum's chairman will really address the bigger issues facing APC governors today.

Governors should focus on tackling urgent state concerns rather than political optics when taking over leadership roles.
