Plateau Police Arrest Fake Soldier, Six Others Amid Jos Unrest
Plateau State Police operatives have arrested a man impersonating a soldier during the recent crisis in Jos. The suspect was found in Angwan Rukuba wearing an army singlet and carrying a forged Nigerian Military School identity card. The Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, paraded the suspect at the command headquarters in Jos. The arrest came after a Palm Sunday attack in the same community left 28 people dead and 22 injured. Earlier on April 1, police also detained five individuals accused of taking advantage of the tension to snatch bags and money around the Terminus area. Security forces quickly dispersed the hoodlums and restored calm. The command has reinforced patrols around key locations, including the university and other strategic spots. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
