Team Nigeria Chases Sprint Finals and Field Medals at Glasgow 2026
Team Nigeria will have a busy Tuesday on the track and in the field at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, with athletes competing in the 400m heats, 100m semi-finals, women’s high jump final and women’s hammer throw. Patience Okon George and Esther Elo Joseph will race in the women’s 400m heats, while Edidiong Udo represents Nigeria in the men’s event. In the women’s 100m semi-finals, Rosemary Chukwuma and Miracle Oluebube Ezechukwu will seek places in the final. Favour Ashe, Kanyinsola Ajayi and Adekalu Fakorede will compete in the men’s 100m semi-finals. Ajayi enters with a season’s best of 9.84 seconds, while Ashe has run 9.93 seconds this season. In the field events, Temitope Adeshina will contest the women’s high jump final after clearing 1.97m this season. Oyesade Olatoye will also compete in the women’s hammer throw as Nigeria looks to add more medals and finalists.
