Felon Arrested After 10-Hour Manhunt in Mother’s Shooting Case
On July 14 in Flovilla, Georgia, law enforcement arrested Darian Berry Sr., 46, after he allegedly shot the mother of his child. Officials say Berry, a convicted felon, tried to restrict his victim and now faces aggravated assault, stalking, battery and false imprisonment charges. Deputies responded to a reported domestic incident. Berry fled on foot, and a BOLO alert was issued. The 10-hour manhunt involved multiple agencies, including the Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 Unit. Bloodhounds finally tracked Berry to a wooded area, and officers took him into custody by evening. Authorities also charged him with arson, obstruction and possession of a firearm by a felon.
