EFCC Arraigns Usie Otukpa Osang for Alleged AUD8.4m and USD3.6m Crypto Fraud
A Nigerian man, Usie Otukpa Osang, appeared before Justice Obiora Egwuatu at the Federal High Court in Abuja on an eight-count charge filed by the EFCC. He is accused of posing under the names Oscar Tyler and Ford Thompson to swindle an Australian investor of over AUD8.4 million and USD3.6 million through a fake cryptocurrency scheme. The charges cite violations of the Advanced Fee Fraud Act and related offences. Osang pleaded not guilty to all counts. The prosecution asked for a trial date and for him to be remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre. His bail application is set for hearing on July 14, 2026.
