1 / 2

Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye (1938–2017) was a trailblazing Nigerian quantity surveyor and entrepreneur. He became the first qualified surveyor in Northern Nigeria and the second in the country. In 1980, he founded Okin Biscuits in Ijagbo near Offa, Kwara State. His factory introduced beloved varieties like Cabin, Shortcake and Coaster to households across West Africa. He held respected traditional titles and received national honours (OON, CON) from President Obasanjo in 2006. His legacy endures in the biscuits that shaped many childhoods during the 1980s and 1990s.
