Kaduna Police Arrest Six Over Lynching of Two Travellers Falsely Accused of Theft
The Kaduna State Police Command has detained six individuals linked to the mob killing of two men, Aliyu Mohammed (40) and Muhammadu Sani (45). The victims were riding a new motorcycle to visit a sick relative in Tundun Wada Zaria on July 1 when they were mistakenly accused of theft in Gidan Kalu Village. Fearing for their safety, the travellers abandoned their bike and fled. An angry mob pursued them, brutally attacking and lynching both men to death. Upon receiving a report, officers from Birnin Yero Division arrested Abdullahi Mukailu Kigo and five others linked to the attack. The suspects have confessed and remain in custody. Investigations continue as police work to identify and apprehend additional participants in this tragic incident.
