Nigerian Troops Clear IPOB/ESN Camp in Imo, Recover Remains of Two Soldiers
Troops from the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, joined by sister services and security agencies, have raided a notorious IPOB/ESN stronghold in Orsu LGA, Imo State. Acting on credible intelligence gathered, they repelled heavy attacks and forced the militants to flee. During a thorough search of the camp, soldiers uncovered shallow graves believed to contain the remains of Master Warrant Officer Linus Musa Audu and Private Gloria Mathew, who were abducted and killed in May 2022. The recovered remains have been secured and sent for forensic analysis and DNA testing to confirm their identities. The army reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling criminal networks in the South East and restoring lasting peace. Civilians are urged to remain vigilant and continue sharing timely, credible information with security agencies.
