One Fan Killed, Another Critically Injured as Riots Erupt Across France After PSG Win
A football fan died and another remains in intensive care after celebrations turned violent across 15 French cities following PSG’s Champions League victory over Arsenal. Riots broke out in Paris, Rennes, Strasbourg and Grenoble. Supporters set fires, vandalised shops and even attempted to storm a police station. One 23-year-old died when his motorbike crashed into a concrete block, and a 17-year-old was stabbed near the Champs-Élysées. French authorities have placed 277 people in custody, including 82 minors. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said 57 officers were injured and warned that police would act with “firmness and determination” at the planned victory celebrations near the Eiffel Tower.
