Five residents were shot dead in Fan District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on the night of Sunday, May 3, 2026. A community member reported that gunmen ambushed the victims on their way home around 9 pm, firing indiscriminately. Four people died instantly, and a fifth succumbed to injuries at the hospital. The Publicity Secretary of a local youth group confirmed the incident and urged security agencies to step up patrols and protect lives and property.
