Paul Scholes Urges Manchester United to Consider Move for Cristian Romero
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has urged the club to consider signing Tottenham captain Cristian Romero, even as Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the Argentine defender. Scholes called Romero a "nutcase" and an "absolute clown" because of his reckless moments, but said his aggression, leadership and defensive quality could make him a strong fit at Old Trafford. He believes manager Michael Carrick could help bring more discipline to the 28-year-old's game. Romero has won the World Cup, two Copa America titles and the Europa League. Scholes says United still need another centre-back despite having Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven and Lisandro Martinez as options.
