Why Not All African Bible-Believers Are Christians

Why Not All African Bible-Believers Are Christians

Africans are uncovering how colonial powers distorted the Bible to control and enslave. Historical records show missionaries omitted books and taught false doctrines to maintain white supremacy. Today, many Black Africans reject denominational Christianity yet remain devoted to Scripture. Some call themselves Yeshuans, Hebrews or Israelites to honour the Messiah’s true identity and uphold God’s covenant laws. Churches often brand obedience to Moses’ laws as “legalism” and divide Scripture into Old and New Testaments. Truth-seekers view the Bible as one continuous book and follow all of God’s commandments. This call invites Christians and Muslims in Africa to study Scripture for themselves, embrace the Messiah’s heritage and rediscover a faith free from colonial interpretation.

Claiming all denominational teachings are false seems extreme; many African congregations blend tradition and scripture in meaningful, authentic ways.
