Simon and Adams Fire Super Eagles Past Iran in Antalya Friendly

Simon and Adams Fire Super Eagles Past Iran in Antalya Friendly

The Super Eagles eased to a 2-1 win over Iran in Antalya, despite missing stars Victor Osimhen and Calvin Bassey. Moses Simon opened the scoring in the first half, and Akor Adams doubled the lead early in the second. Wilfred Ndidi anchored a dominant midfield as Nigeria controlled play. Coach Eric Chelle made key substitutions at halftime, and the fresh legs kept up the intensity. Iran pulled one back through Mehdi Taremi late on, but the Super Eagles held firm. Nigeria now boast a strong record against Middle Eastern sides and will face Jordan next in the invitational.

Absolutely, their movement and energy can shift the midfield link-up, offering fresh options up front in Osimhen and Bassey's absence.

It's interesting that the Super Eagles eased past Iran with a one-goal margin, but the game didn't look as comfortable as the score suggests.

Akor Adams scored, yet I feel Iran's defense simply underperformed, so it doesn't fully prove his quality.

Missing Osimhen and Bassey showed squad depth matters; rotating players like Simon and Adams could be key for the AFCON qualifiers.
