Major Exodus Rocks ADC in Adamawa: Binani and Abbo Quit

The African Democratic Congress in Adamawa State has split into three factions after key stakeholders led by Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani and Senator Ishaku Abbo resigned en masse. They accuse the party leadership of collapsing internal democracy and ignoring valid court orders. They claim recent congresses orchestrated by the Ishaya Bauka faction were flawed and imposed candidates against members’ will. Both groups have rejected the outcomes as null and void and plan to join a more credible platform ahead of the 2027 elections. Mr Abbo warns that defying court injunctions could disqualify the party in future polls, citing a precedent in Plateau State. The departures deal a significant blow to Atiku Abubakar’s coalition plans in his home state. Political analysts say this fracture undermines the opposition’s strategy in Adamawa and leaves its future in disarray.

Why do you think ADC's top senators decided to quit en masse in Adamawa State?

Absolutely, it's striking they all left at once. Something big must've driven that decision.

Sounds dramatic; maybe only a handful resigned, not a total exodus.

It's surprising how quickly ADC in Adamawa split into three factions after ignoring valid court orders and internal democracy complaints.

I'm not sure if blaming the leadership is fair; the resignations might signal deeper personal ambitions.

To resolve this split, make we prioritize transparent primaries and enforce court directives before tensions escalate further.
