Lagos Assembly Ends Onafeko’s Tenure, Appoints Adenike Osinowo as New Clerk
The Lagos State House of Assembly has ended Olalekan Onafeko’s two-year tenure as Clerk with immediate effect. Lawmakers approved the move by voice vote, noting it follows established rules rather than a disciplinary action. Speaker Mudashiru Obasa thanked Onafeko for his service since January 2022 and highlighted his role in strengthening legislative operations. He then announced Adenike Osinowo as the new Clerk, praising her administrative experience and competence. The Assembly also confirmed Latifat Ogbara as Chair of the House Service Commission and Remi Bello as a Commission member. Members called on all appointees to uphold professionalism, transparency, and dedication in their duties.
