DSS Releases Herdsman Nura Idris, Grants N3m Compensation After Exoneration
The DSS has released Nura Idris, a herdsman from Soba LGA in Kaduna State, after an internal review cleared him of alleged Boko Haram links. The Director-General directed his release and approved a N3 million compensation package to support his reintegration. The DSS will also provide medical and psychological care and help him rebuild his business. This action is part of a broader review launched last year to free and compensate wrongfully detained suspects. More than 30 cases have been reviewed so far, with over N300 million paid in compensation to those cleared.
