Bandits Kill One, Kidnap Two Along Egbe–Koro Road
After a pause in violence, armed bandits struck again on Saturday, 12 April in the Yagba axis of Kogi State. The attack targeted travellers on the Egbe–Koro road linking Yagba West in Kogi and Ekiti LGA in Kwara State. Around 6pm the gunmen ambushed motorists. One man, Eri Okan, was killed on the spot. Two other locals – Alaba (“Jogojogo”) and “Man Pass Man” – were abducted during the raid. Residents are calling on federal, state and local authorities to boost security and protect citizens. Okunland and neighbouring parts of Kwara have seen several such attacks in recent weeks.
