Ofoma says he deliberately avoided presenting Tatiana as a helpless victim. Inspired by a real woman’s experience, he wanted the character to retain agency and make difficult choices under economic pressure. He also explains why Madam Ngozi was written as a complex character rather than a straightforward villain, and reflects on the friendship between Tatiana and Ginika. For Ofoma, the film is rooted in messy human realities, not simple moral labels.
