Lagos Pastors Lead Peaceful March Against Rising Insecurity
Members of the PFN Lagos chapter took to the streets in a peaceful march against the rising wave of banditry and kidnappings across Nigeria. The demonstration was led by Pastors Yemi Davids and Emmanuel Iren after a three-day national fasting and prayer programme. The protest follows a series of deadly attacks in Kwara State. Gunmen stormed a prayer ground in Ikiran village, killing worshippers and abducting others. Suspected bandits also attacked Yashikira community, burning the Emir’s palace and kidnapping residents, including women and children. Footage of the march showed PFN members holding placards calling for urgent government action. The involvement of high-profile church leaders sparked widespread discussion online about security and the role of religious groups in civic affairs. The PFN has yet to announce next steps. The protest adds to growing public pressure on federal authorities to address insecurity more decisively.
