Sule Challenges Obi: “Why Didn’t You Quit During Anambra’s Security Crisis?”

Sule Challenges Obi: “Why Didn’t You Quit During Anambra’s Security Crisis?”

The Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule, has challenged Peter Obi over his calls for President Tinubu to resign amid rising insecurity and economic hardship. Speaking on June 22, Sule argued that Obi should have stepped down when Anambra faced severe security challenges during his tenure. “I think Peter Obi should have resigned at the time we were having some of the most catastrophic security challenges in Anambra state. Why didn’t he resign then?” the governor asked. He added that opposition remarks should be more constructive rather than insults. Sule also said it was unreasonable for Obi to demand President Tinubu’s resignation without offering solutions. “If he resigns, who solves the problem?” he asked. A video of his comments has been widely circulated online.

It's interesting how Sule uses past security struggles in one state to counter calls for national leadership change.

Equating security challenges in one state with Nigeria's entire crisis seems to oversimplify the scale of national problems.
