Zamfara Police Rescue Stolen 10-Day-Old Baby, Arrest Suspect
Zamfara State Police recovered a ten-day-old infant stolen from General Hospital, Kaura-Namoda. The baby was taken three days earlier and a suspect has now been arrested. Investigators questioned on-duty hospital staff and relied on tips from local residents. On May 15, officers traced the child to a nearby hamlet called Kogin Audu and secured the safe recovery of the infant. The baby was unharmed and has been reunited with the biological parents. A 27-year-old woman named Asmau Nasiru is in custody as the investigation continues. The State Commissioner of Police commended community members for timely information and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to fighting all forms of crime.
