Falconets Forward Janet Akekoromowei Seals Move to Benfica
Falconets striker Janet Akekoromowei has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for another two years at Portuguese champions Benfica. The 18-year-old says she is proud to wear the famous red shirt. “I’m happy! Benfica is a great club and I feel privileged to help the team win trophies,” she told the club’s official website. Akekoromowei added that she aims to give her best, support her teammates and reach the club’s targets for the 2026/27 season. She also revealed that former Benfica player Christy Ucheibe inspired her decision by sharing positive experiences of life at the club.
