When You Blame Everyone for Discrimination: A Call to Look Within
Many of us feel we face discrimination everywhere we go. We accuse Northern Nigeria of anti-Christian violence and Yoruba land of tribalism. Abroad, we label Ghanaians lazy, Ethiopians sadists, and South Africans xenophobic. We also claim that Indians, Malaysians, and Thais hate us because of our skin color. These sweeping generalizations make you wonder: are our own actions provoking the hostility we experience? Before pointing fingers at every group, perhaps it’s time to look in the mirror and consider how our behavior shapes these encounters.
