Mangut Laments Late Penalty in Nasarawa United’s 1-0 Loss

Mangut Laments Late Penalty in Nasarawa United’s 1-0 Loss

Nasarawa United fell 1-0 to Kwara United in Lagos after conceding a late penalty. Abdulsalam Abdulsalam stepped up to convert the spot-kick and hand the hosts all three points. Technical adviser Mbwas Mangut admitted the defeat was a bitter pill to swallow. He praised his players’ effort from the first whistle but said they were undone by “the cruel side of the round leather game.” With matchday 32 approaching, Nasarawa United will host Kun Khalifat. Mangut vowed to rally his squad and repay their loyal supporters with a victory.

Do you think that penalty alone really decided their result, or was there a deeper issue in their buildup?

Nasarawa United looked solid till the 89th minute, then you wonder how they let that penalty slip through defensive concentration.

Bitter pill maybe, but is Mangut deflecting blame from missed chances earlier rather than that late penalty alone?

They should tighten marking inside the box and work on concentration spikes during closing stages in training.
