Wale Edun Reflects on Economic Gains After Removal as Finance Minister

Wale Edun has described his time as finance minister as an honour. He thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve since May 2023 and said his focus was on stabilising the economy and restoring fiscal discipline. Edun noted that the administration inherited a fragile economy but introduced reforms that helped growth rise from about 2% to over 4%. He also highlighted a significant fall in inflation from 35% to 15% before his removal on April 21 during the Renewed Hope Agenda cabinet reshuffle.
