French Model Recruiter Tied to Jeffrey Epstein Found Dead Near Paris
A well-known model scout who introduced young women to Jeffrey Epstein was found dead this week at his home near Paris. French prosecutors say the body of Daniel Siad was discovered on Monday, and an autopsy is under way to determine the cause of death. Siad had admitted in interviews that he connected aspiring models with Epstein, even after the financier’s 2008 conviction on sex-crime charges. Files from the U.S. Department of Justice reveal Epstein paid tens of thousands of dollars to Siad for referrals. In messages, Siad described sending photos of potential recruits and seeking a personal assistant for Epstein. Although Siad insisted he never received complaints from women he recommended, some of those recruits later claimed abuse. French authorities have opened a criminal probe this year to review Epstein’s links to the fashion world and Siad’s role. Siad also faced separate abuse allegations dating back to 1990, which he denied.
