Edo State Unveils Interactive Smart Boards to Modernise Tertiary Education

Edo State is partnering with TETFund to roll out 98-inch EDON QR Interactive Smart Boards across its universities and colleges. The project was announced during a meeting between the Special Adviser on Student Affairs and Mobilisation and the National Project Coordinator of the TETFund/NCCE initiative. These smart boards come with built-in 3D animation software to boost classroom engagement and digital skills. Officials say the technology will transform teaching and learning, deepen students’ participation, and prepare graduates for a rapidly evolving digital economy. The governor’s team reaffirms that investing in modern infrastructure remains central to elevating Edo’s tertiary institutions to national prominence.

Universities should set up regular training workshops and assign dedicated tech staff to ensure these smart boards are effectively integrated into lectures.
