Lagos Police Name Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan to Civilian Oversight Board for Violent Crimes Unit

Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, has been appointed to the Civilian Oversight Board for the newly formed Violent Crimes Response Unit (VCRU). The appointment, announced by CP Tijani Olayiwola Fatai in a letter signed by DCP Khan Salihu, aligns with the Inspector-General’s reform agenda to boost professionalism, transparency and public trust in policing. Dr Ogunsan’s extensive work in community policing and security partnerships is expected to enhance accountability, strategic engagement and community participation in VCRU operations. A respected security strategist, he has led initiatives such as the Lagos State Police Community Relations Committee and the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, driving youth advocacy and crime prevention efforts.
