JAMB Alleges Top UTME Scorer Manipulated Identity, Altered Records for Multiple Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has accused 2025 UTME top scorer Chinedu Okeke of altering his personal records to gain multiple admissions. According to JAMB, Okeke, a 400-level medical student at UNN from Amuwo-Odofin in Lagos State, tried to switch identity and apply for Mechanical Engineering under an Anambra State quota. The Board dismissed claims of a data retrieval error by NIMC and said National Identification Number verification shows record changes made by Okeke. JAMB said it will continue to treat Okeke as a legitimate student pending further investigation and may notify the Medical and Dental Council if irregularities are confirmed. The Board reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and announced a partnership with NIMC to safeguard candidate data. An education expert challenged JAMB’s allegations, attributing the discrepancies to a 2021 NIN migration glitch. He urged a thorough review and a public apology for Okeke, who scored 375 in the 2025 UTME.
