Ibiyeomie Criticises Proposed ₦50,000 Fine for Preaching in Commercial Buses
Pastor David Ibiyeomie has criticised the Senate over provisions in the proposed Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Act Amendment Bill, 2026, that would penalise preaching, hawking and trading inside commercial buses. The bill proposes a ₦50,000 fine for anyone who preaches or sells goods to passengers in commercial vehicles. It has been passed by the National Assembly and is awaiting President Bola Tinubu’s assent. Speaking in church, Ibiyeomie described the provision as anti-Christian and warned that it could trigger serious reactions. He also accused some pastors of keeping silent because of ethnic loyalties and alleged links to the current administration.
