D’Tigers Edge Guinea 80-79 in Thrilling Win to Advance in FIBA Qualifiers

Nigeria’s D’Tigers ended Guinea’s winning run with an 80-79 victory in Group C of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in Luanda. After trailing by six points in the third quarter, Nigeria mounted a late comeback to secure their spot in the second round alongside Guinea. The team had also edged Tunisia 84-81 a day earlier. Up next is the final Group C game against Rwanda on Sunday, July 5. All first-round results will carry over, and the top two teams from each group plus the best third-placed side will qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar.
