France Falls Flat, Spain on Track to Glory: Who Will Meet Spain in the Final?

France Falls Flat, Spain on Track to Glory: Who Will Meet Spain in the Final? — 1 of 2
1 / 2

I’m disappointed with France’s flat display in the semi-final. They never looked like the side we’ve grown to love in this tournament, and at times it felt almost as if they’d sold the match short. Spain, meanwhile, have quietly carved their path to the final. They approached this game like it was already the World Cup decider, showing focus and discipline where others have relied on flair. Star players such as Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane and Martin Ødegaard have still shown they belong in the “greatest of this generation” conversation, even if they don’t lift the trophy. With Spain through, I’m rooting for an all-English or Spain-England final. I’ve lost most of my emotional stake now France, Portugal and Norway are out—just not keen on Argentina lifting the trophy. Who do you think will meet Spain on Sunday?

Spain have looked solid, but France's defeat was unexpected. Which underdog could upset Spain's path to the final?

What makes any underdog credible enough to derail a team this consistent?

It's odd how Spain have barely made headlines despite reaching the final. They seem too quiet for a team that dominant.

I no dey convinced say Spain will breeze through the final. Previous tournaments show favourites can choke at last hurdle.
