APC Ward Suspends Senator Echocho for Anti-Party Activities After Primary Defeat

The All Progressives Congress in Odu Ward 2 of Dekina LGA, Kogi State has suspended Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho over alleged anti-party actions following his primary loss. The Ward Executive Committee met on May 26 and accused the senator of holding talks with opposition figures and planning to defect after what they described as his rejection over a third-term bid. They also faulted his past performance during the 2019 and 2023 elections. APC chieftain Mallam Nasiru Musa said the move protects the party’s unity and warns others against undermining its strength. Some local members praised the bold disciplinary action.
