Coventry Sign Ghana’s Caleb Yirenkyi for Club-Record Fee, Joining Frank Onyeka
Premier League newcomers Coventry City have completed the club-record signing of Ghana midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi from Nordsjaelland in a deal worth a reported £23.1 million, with up to £2.5 million in add-ons. The 20-year-old joins Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka at the club after signing a long-term contract. Onyeka made his Coventry move permanent following a loan spell last season. Yirenkyi made his Ghana debut in May 2025 and scored a stoppage-time winner against Panama at this summer’s World Cup. A Right to Dream academy product, he was named Danish Superliga Young Player of the Year last season and can also play at right-back. Coventry manager Frank Lampard has now made five signings as the club prepares for its first Premier League campaign in 25 years.
