Living the Eighth Beatitude: Finding Joy in Persecution

I reflect on Jesus’ promise in Matthew 5:10–12 that those persecuted for righteousness are blessed and will inherit the kingdom of heaven. To be persecuted for righteousness means living like Christ—with integrity, obedience, a pure heart, and a hunger for what is right. If we remain faithful, we receive an everlasting reward in heaven—a glory far beyond our present trials, as noted in Romans 8:18.
