Arewa Youth President Says Northern States Will Not Support Peter Obi in 2027

The president of an Arewa youth group has said Peter Obi should not expect electoral support from Northern Nigeria in the 2027 presidential election. Speaking in an interview with a television outlet, he claimed that no northern state would vote for Obi. He also said Obi had not consulted the group or reached any agreement with it before indicating interest in the race. The youth leader said the North would support a candidate who backed Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and represented northern interests. He added that coordinators who openly support Obi against the group’s position could be replaced.
