1 / 2

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission will arraign ex-Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai on March 24, 2026, at the Federal High Court in Kaduna. He faces a 10-count charge sheet that includes alleged abuse of office, money laundering, diversion of World Bank funds, irregular contract awards, land fraud and obstruction of justice. The ICPC filed the charges on March 18, and El-Rufai has been in its custody since mid-February. His legal team disputes leaked details and the length of his detention. Court proceedings are set to begin this morning, marking a key phase in the probe of his administration’s financial dealings.
